While there is no Publix loyalty card like some other stores have, the grocery store chain does have a loyalty program.
How do I participate in the Publix loyalty program?
Just sign up either through the ClubPublix website or by downloading the app from the Play Store / App Store. There is a current promotion, lasting until 4/28/23, for $5 off of of your next registered purchase of $20 or more when you sign up.
What are the benefits of signing up for the Publix loyalty program?
Publix has digital coupons that can be clipped by members and then applied at checkout. Most of the time these are regular coupons that give a certain discount off an item, but from time to time coupons for entirely free items appear as well.
In addition to that, on the birthday you enter when signing up, you’ll get a “perk” for a free Publix brand ice cream or bar cake. On your “half-birthday” you’ll get a coupon for 50% off of the ice cream or bar cake.
Occasionally the program offers discounts off the total purchase price, like $2 off $10, to name one I recently got.
In the past Publix was offering 1% back on purchases registered with the rewards program, but that ended as of last year. It’s uncertain if they might bring it back eventually, or for some special occasion. This is just a guess of mine, but it seems like they have more digital coupons for free items than they used to, so maybe they’re doing that instead.
How exactly do I use this program?
It’s easy. The app is much more convenient than the site, so I’ll talk about that.
After you complete the sign up you can see the main screen.
The weekly ad section is handy to see upcoming sales, but the main thing here is the digital coupon section.
The coupons are broken down into different categories-always check the bogo section because that’s where the free coupons live.
Once you’ve picked a section all you have to do is click the green scissor icon to clip and it’ll be added to your list.
Don’t forget to enter your phone number at the pinpad when you check out! The coupons and perks will then be applied to your bill automatically.
Verdict
The Publix loyalty program offers some occasional nice perks and makes sense for people who already shop at Publix. There are exclusive coupons and deals with the program, but the regular discounts and bogos are available to anyone.
Fingers crossed they bring back the 1% rebate and make it permanent.
