Say, do you like games? Would you like some free game downloads every single week?
Then read on, and learn about the best game freebie I know of, courtesy of Epic Games.
So what is Epic Games?
Epic Games is a game studio and publisher (they made Fortnite, among other titles) that also has a platform for buying and playing games. You can buy and download games from their site, and then play them in their downloadable launcher.
Why are we talking about Epic Games?
Well, see, the great thing about Epic Games, as regards this site, is that they routinely offer free game downloads. Every week on Thursday, at 11 AM EST, they release one or more games that anyone can download for free. The games are available for a week until the next free games drop. Once you get a game you keep it forever.
What kind of games do they offer?
All sorts really. The games offered span a variety of genres and name recognition levels. In the past, they’ve offered both indie games and well-known titles like Dishonored, Dragon Age: Inquisitions, and the Bioshock trilogy. The “mainstream” games are offered less frequently, but you’ll get them if you stick around.
How do I get the free game downloads?
It’s easy. First, go to the site here. After that sign up for an account with the site. Once you do that you’re ready to get the games.
To find the free games, just follow the links in one of my Epic Games posts, or look for the free games category on the Epic Games homepage.
Once you see a game you like, click the big blue get button on the info page of the game.
You’ll be taken to a checkout page that looks like this. Notice how the total comes out to zero, so there’s no need to add any payment information. Just click place order and wait for processing to complete before you close the window.
Congrats! You got a free game!
How do I play the free game I just got?
Once you’ve gotten a game you can play it through the Epic Games launcher. This is a program you install on your computer, just like the Steam launcher if you’re familiar with that. Open it up once you’ve downloaded it and you should be able to find your games in the library.
If you like games absolutely check this out
Free games every week is hard to beat. And there’s something super satisfying about seeing all the games you get for free accumulate in your library and purchase history. Digital hoarding is so much more convenient.
