Everybody knows organic and plant-based foods can be pricey. And while sometimes other receipt apps list foods like that, the options can be slim. That’s why Merryfield, which gives cash back on organic foods and a variety of healthy foods, is pretty great.
Never heard of it? It’s a relative new kid on the block in the world of receipt apps. I’ll lay out the details below (and there’s a sign-up bonus at the bottom of the post).
I may receive payments or incentives for sign ups and clicks generated through links on this page. Please see the full disclosure for more information. Thank you for the support!

How Does It Work?
As you would expect from a receipt app, you earn rewards on Merryfield by scanning grocery receipts.
The submission process is easy and fast. All you need to do is go to the receipt tab and click submit before taking a picture. The receipts need to be from within the last 7 days to count.
Most of my receipts have processed very quickly. If something isn’t registering for a reward the app gives the option to edit the receipt and add an item by scanning its bar code. The only time I’ve had to do this so far the points were credited in under a day.
There’s two ways to earn on the app: Everyday Rewards and Special Offers.
Certain partner brands are listed under Everyday rewards. With these brands there’s no need to save offers. You’ll automatically get points for buying something from them. All the brands give at least 50 points per dollar, or 5% back. The whole process is super easy. I know I mentioned getting cash back on organic foods earlier, but they also have some non-organic foods.
Special Offers work more like some of the other receipt scanning apps. You add the offer to the list on the app by clicking the plus button before buying it. There seem to be approximately 15 or so special offers at any given time.
It’s also possible to link some retailer accounts, like your Amazon account, to get cash back on online grocery orders. Others include Sprouts and Walmart.

Redeeming Rewards
The redemption process is straightforward. 1000 points is equal to $1. You redeem the points for the gift card of your choice among those listed.
The lowest amount is $5, or 5000 points. Amazon, Target, Apple,Sephora, REI, and Barnes & Noble are included among other options. While most gift cards are available at $5, there are some that require a minimum of $10 or $25.
Do You Want Cash Back On Organic Foods?
How good Merryfield is for you will heavily depend on what foods you buy.
If you buy organic brands or plant-based foods or various health foods you’ll probably love it and you should download the app ASAP.
But if your household groceries don’t look like that what you’ll get out of Merryfield is limited. In that case you’d probably be better off sticking with one of the other receipt apps.
Many of the rewarded brands and special offers aren’t available elsewhere, so it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a bit curious.
You might have been disappointed when you read the part above about how there are approximately 15 Special Offers at any given time. But honestly, and speaking as someone who uses several receipt apps, I find the short list kind of nice. I don’t forget about offers or have to spend tons of time scrolling to check them. It fits in with the nice, clean, easy feel of the app design in general.
I think Merryfield is cool and pretty unique, if your shopping includes these foods.
As always feel free to comment down below. Do you like the list of brands on the app? Personally I hope they add Silk brand stuff.
