AtlasEarth is a unique mobile game that lets you earn cash by purchasing virtual property. The AtlasEarth bonus will net you 300 coins in total (worth 3 plots of land), but there’s a bit of a catch.
Check out the details below.
I may receive payments or incentives for sign ups and clicks generated through links on this page. Please see the full disclosure for more information. Thank you for the support!
atlasearth – what the heck is it?
So like I mentioned, the app lets you buy virtual property. It uses geolocation to find where you are and you can purchase property within a certain radius. I think the radius is somewhere around 100 feet.
The real geographical area of the US is divided into sections in the game. Each virtual plot corresponds to a real place, and the only way to buy them is to be physically close to them.
If this sounds complicated, it’s not too bad. Just open the app a few times and you’ll get it.
Each plot you own will pay you rent in real USD. Now, I should mention that the rent paid per plot is tiny. Generally, it’s 0.0000000011$ per second.
I said generally because whenever you buy a plot you have a chance of getting a rarer and more valuable plot that pays more rent.
But either way, it takes a lot of land and time to add up to meaningful amounts. There’s also a cashout minimum of $5.
How Can you buy land?
The currency of the game is called Atlas Bucks (AB). It takes 100 Atlas Bucks to buy 1 plot. There are a few ways to earn it.
First, you can outright pay cash for it. The rates are currently $4.99 for 100 AB. Buying more at the same time gives a discount.
There’s also a link in the menu to watch ads for 2 AB each. There’s a cool-down of 20 minutes in between ad watches.
The connect card button at the top allows you to link a debit or credit card and earn AB on purchases at participating businesses. Right now only a few options are listed.
- Moe’s Southwest Grill
- Burger King
- Auntie Anne’s
- Jimmy John’s
- Advance Auto Parts
So if you like one of those places you’re in luck and will grab plenty of AB just for eating meals.
The Atlas Travel feature is a hotel booking portal that earns Atlas Bucks on each stay. As with other hotel booking portals, the amount earned scales generally with price, but not solely by price. Some hotels just get more points.
Finally, there are random diamonds that pop up on the world map. If you get close and grab them you’ll get a spin at the diamond wheel.
The wheel gives you a chance to win more Atlas Bucks, up to 50. The highest prize definitely is awarded from time to time: I’ve gotten it twice.
There’s one more thing I should mention: passports. When you’re in a town, state, or just the country, there’s a corresponding passport available for purchase. Going by the ones I see they cost 200 AB each.
Owning a certain number of passports gives you a bonus on the rent you earn.
By my math, it makes more sense to purchase land at first and wait until the added passport percentage is more worthwhile.
AtlasEarth bonus – promo terms
By signing up, you automatically get 100 coins to purchase your first plot of land.
There’s an additional 200 coin bonus available to people who are referred (like you!), but you need to purchase 10 plots of land total to get the bonus. The first free plot counts towards the total.
So in total, the AtlasEarth bonus gives you 300 AB, but you will probably have to wait a bit to get the 10 plots required.
If you don’t spend any money and don’t shop at one of the linked stores, that’ll take a while to earn from ads and gems.
atlasEarth – So why should you sign up?
I’ve already told you that it will probably take a long time to get the AtlasEarth bonus, that there aren’t too many participating partners for the card-linked offer, and that the rent collected is quite low.
But, you know, the game is weirdly fun.
I wasn’t convinced when I first heard about the game, but after giving it a try I was surprised to find myself enjoying using it.
It’s great going around and grabbing a piece of places you’ve been. It’s satisfying in an obscure way to build up a little group of connected plots, all flying your own flag.
All you do is save up some Atlas Bucks and then find a plot to purchase, and then…own it. And somehow it works for me. It might work for you too.
There are plans for opening a virtual real estate market between users in the future, as well as allowing specific landmark plots. There may be a potential to earn more later on.
Who knows, maybe it will grow?
In the meantime, it’s interesting.
As always, feel free to leave comments about the app down below.
